God desires to guide us so we may know His will and live according to the purpose He designed for our lives.
One of the most important questions a person can ask is: what does God want for my life? Many times, we make decisions based on our desires, circumstances, or personal expectations, but the Bible invites us to seek the Lord’s will first. Paul encourages believers not to live without spiritual direction, but to understand what God desires. Knowing God’s will does not mean having detailed answers for every aspect of the future, but developing such a close relationship with Him that we learn to recognize His principles, voice, and direction. God guides us primarily through His Word, prayer, and the work of the Holy Spirit in our hearts. Jesus gave the perfect example of a life surrendered to the Father’s will because His greatest desire was to fulfill the purpose for which He had come. Many times, we want to know God’s plans without being willing to surrender our own, but true wisdom begins when we place our lives in His hands. When we seek His will, God transforms our priorities and teaches us to make decisions that produce eternal fruit.
Before making an important decision today, spend time in prayer and seek to understand how that decision aligns with God’s will.
Beloved Father, thank You because You have not left me to walk without direction. Thank You because You desire to guide me and show me the right path. Help me stop depending only on my own desires and sincerely seek Your will. Give me wisdom to recognize Your direction, humility to obey Your ways, and patience to wait for Your timing. May my decisions not be guided by pressure or convenience, but by the desire to honor You. Form within me a heart willing to follow Your purpose and live according to Your plan. Amen.
