God calls us to know and remain in sound doctrine so we can live a faith founded on the truth of His Word.
Sound doctrine is important because it helps us correctly know who God is, what His purpose is, and how we should live as followers of Christ. In a world filled with many different ideas and teachings, we need a firm foundation based on the truth of Scripture. Biblical doctrine is not merely a collection of concepts, but teaching that transforms the way we think, believe, and act. Paul encouraged Titus to teach what agreed with sound doctrine, showing that healthy faith must be accompanied by correct truth. Knowing God’s teaching protects us from error, strengthens our relationship with Him, and helps us live in a way that reflects Christ’s character.
Reflect today on the importance of knowing God’s truth and seek to grow in your understanding of His Word.
Beloved Father, thank You because You have given us Your Word so we can know the truth and walk according to Your will. Help me value sound doctrine and not be carried away by teachings that depart from Your principles. Give me wisdom to study Scripture, discernment to recognize truth, and humility to keep learning from You. May my faith be firmly established in Christ and in the teaching of Your Word. Amen.
