Jesus did not come only to save us; He also showed us the way God desires us to live.
Following Christ means much more than admiring His life from a distance. Jesus called His disciples to walk with Him, learn from Him, and reflect His character in every area of life. His example shows us a different way of responding to the world: loving when we are rejected, forgiving when we are hurt, serving when others seek recognition, and remaining faithful when obeying God is costly. The life of Jesus was not marked by selfishness or comfort, but by humility and surrender. Yet following His example does not mean trying to imitate Him only through our own strength. We need Christ to transform our hearts from within so that His characteristics begin to be seen in us. Each day we have the opportunity to ask not only what Jesus would do, but how we can allow Jesus to live through us.
Observe one attitude of Christ you desire to reflect more and ask the Holy Spirit to form it in your life.
Lord Jesus, thank You because You not only gave me salvation, but also a perfect example of how to live. Help me leave behind attitudes that do not reflect Your character and form in me a heart more like Yours. Teach me to love, serve, forgive, and obey as You did. May people see more of Christ in my words and actions each day. Amen.
