We Were Called to Purity
Sexual purity is part of God’s call to live a life set apart for Him and guided by His will.
Reflection
The Bible teaches that holiness reaches every area of our lives, including our sexuality. Paul wrote to the Thessalonian believers that God’s will is their sanctification and that they should abstain from sexual immorality. This shows that God has a good purpose for our bodies and relationships. Purity does not consist only of avoiding certain behavior, but of honoring God with our decisions, thoughts, and desires. In a culture that often encourages people to follow every personal impulse, God’s Word calls us to live with self-control and an identity founded on Christ. Purity is born from recognizing that we belong to God and that our lives have a greater purpose. The Holy Spirit strengthens us to overcome temptation and live according to the Creator’s design.
Practical application
Reflect today on how you can honor God with your body, thoughts, and decisions.
Prayer
Beloved Father, thank You because You have called me to live a holy life set apart for You. Help me value the purpose You have for my body and relationships. Forgive me for the times I have failed to guard my purity as You desire. Strengthen my heart, renew my mind, and guide me through Your Spirit so I may live with integrity. May my life honor You in every area and reflect Your holiness. Amen.
