God not only hears our prayers; He also answers as a good Father who perfectly knows what we need.
Prayer is much more than presenting a list of requests before God. It is drawing near to a Father who loves us, listens to us, and desires fellowship with us. Jesus used the relationship between a father and his children to show us God’s heart. An earthly father desires to give good things to his children, but our heavenly Father infinitely surpasses every human expression of love. Sometimes we confuse God’s goodness with receiving exactly what we ask for. However, God answers from His perfect wisdom, not only from our immediate desires. Sometimes He says yes, other times He asks us to wait, and at times He leads us toward something different because He knows what we truly need. Confidence in prayer is born when we understand that the answer always comes from a good God. We can draw near freely because we know our words are heard by a Father who cares for us and who will never act against our true good.
Before presenting your requests to God, take a few minutes to acknowledge who He is and remember His goodness as a Father.
Heavenly Father, thank You because I can draw near to You with confidence, knowing that You hear me. Help me not to measure Your goodness only by the answers I receive, but by the assurance that You always seek my good. Teach me to pray with faith, patience, and humility, trusting that Your plans are better than mine. May my relationship with You grow each day, and may I rest in Your perfect care. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
