The gift of tongues is a manifestation of the Holy Spirit given according to His will and should be exercised with order and purpose to glorify God.
The gift of tongues is one of the spiritual gifts mentioned in the New Testament as a manifestation of the Holy Spirit. The Bible shows that this gift was given to some believers and was to be exercised within the church in an orderly way and according to God’s purpose. Beyond the outward manifestation, biblical teaching emphasizes that every gift should be used for edification and with love toward others. The gift of tongues should not become a cause of pride or division, but an expression of dependence on the Holy Spirit when He grants it. Spiritual maturity is not measured only by the manifestation of a gift, but by the fruit produced in a life transformed by God. When gifts are used correctly, they always point toward Christ and strengthen the fellowship of God’s people.
Reflect today on the importance of seeking the Holy Spirit humbly and consider whether your gifts and abilities are being used to glorify God and build others up.
Beloved Father, thank You because Your Holy Spirit works in the lives of Your children according to Your will. Help me receive and value Your gifts humbly, without seeking personal recognition. Teach me to use everything You have placed in my hands to build others up and glorify Your name. May my life not focus only on outward manifestations, but on developing a heart filled with love, obedience, and spiritual fruit. Always guide me toward Christ and a deeper relationship with You. Amen.
