The cross of Christ marks a before and after in our lives because in Him we find forgiveness, restoration, and a new identity.
The cross represents the moment when God displayed His love perfectly and opened the way to new life. Paul declared that he had been crucified with Christ, expressing that his former way of living no longer held the same place because his life was now centered on Jesus. This truth reminds us that following Christ involves deep transformation that reaches our identity, thoughts, and decisions. The cross not only frees us from the guilt of the past, but also invites us to walk in a new direction according to God’s purpose. Many times, we continue carrying mistakes, wounds, or memories that Christ already bore Himself, but God’s grace calls us to live from the freedom He has given us. The Christian life consists of learning each day to allow Christ to be formed within us and His character to be reflected in the way we live. When we understand what Jesus did at the cross, our story is no longer defined by who we were, but begins to be marked by what God is doing within us.
Reflect today on what from your past you are still carrying and remember that in Christ you have a new opportunity to walk in freedom and hope.
Beloved Father, thank You because the cross of Christ changed my story and allowed me to receive new life with You. Thank You because I am not defined by my mistakes, wounds, or past, but by Your love and by the work Jesus accomplished for me. Help me leave behind everything that keeps me from moving forward and teach me to live according to the new identity I have in Christ. Renew my mind, strengthen my faith, and allow Jesus to be reflected in every area of my life. May my daily walk become a testimony of Your grace and transforming power. Amen.
