Direct Access to the Father

Royal priesthood · 5 min read

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
Hebrews 4:16

Introduction

Through Christ, believers have direct access to God’s presence and can draw near to Him with confidence.

Reflection

In the past, access to God’s presence was connected with priestly ministry and certain ceremonies established by God. Yet through the perfect work of Jesus Christ, a new way was opened so that every believer can draw near to the Father. Jesus is our great High Priest, who represents us before God and allows us to enter His presence with confidence. This privilege is not based on our merit, but on Christ’s grace and perfect sacrifice. Having direct access to God means we can come to Him in prayer, seek His direction, and experience His love without barriers. As part of the royal priesthood, we have received both the calling and privilege of living in continual fellowship with our Creator. Many times, we seek answers in different places, forgetting that we have the opportunity to draw near directly to the Father. This close relationship with God transforms the way we live and allows us to walk securely, knowing that He hears and sustains His children.

Practical application

Find a special moment today to draw near to God in prayer, remembering the privilege you have of entering His presence.

Prayer

Beloved Father, thank You because through Christ I have access to Your presence. Thank You because I do not need to depend on my own merit, but can draw near while trusting in Your grace and love. Help me value this privilege and develop a deeper relationship with You. Forgive me for the times I have looked for solutions far from You before coming into Your presence. Teach me to live as someone who has access to the Father and can walk in daily fellowship with You. Amen.

For reflection
Am I making use of the privilege of drawing near directly to God, or am I living distant from His presence?
