As part of the spiritual priesthood, believers are called to offer God a life of worship, obedience, and service.
Under the old covenant, priests offered sacrifices in the temple as part of worship to God. Yet through Christ, a new reality has been established: believers now form part of a spiritual priesthood and are called to offer sacrifices that please the Lord. These sacrifices do not consist of animals or outward rituals, but of a life surrendered to God with a willing heart. True worship includes our decisions, service, words, and the way we live each day. Paul taught that presenting our lives as a living sacrifice is a reasonable response to God’s love and mercy. As spiritual priests, we have the privilege of drawing near to God and offering Him what is born from a heart transformed by His grace. The Lord does not seek merely religious acts, but a genuine relationship in which our whole life becomes an expression of love and obedience.
Examine what areas of your life need to be surrendered again to God as an expression of worship.
Beloved Father, thank You because through Christ You have allowed me to draw near to You and become part of Your priestly people. Help me offer You a life that pleases You, not merely words or isolated moments of worship. Teach me to surrender my thoughts, decisions, talents, and time to You. Forgive me for the times I have separated my spiritual life from my daily life. May everything I am become an offering for Your glory, and may my life reflect love and obedience toward You. Amen.
