God does not always prevent trials, but He promises to be our refuge when we go through difficult moments.
Trials have a way of revealing where our trust is truly placed. When everything seems stable, it is easy to feel that we are in control; but when situations arise that exceed our abilities, we discover our need for a safe place to rest. The Bible presents God as a refuge in times of trouble, not as someone distant who watches our suffering, but as a close Father who accompanies His children. David knew seasons of persecution, danger, and pain, yet at every stage he learned to run to God. Taking refuge in Him does not mean denying the reality of our difficulties, but facing them from a different position: knowing that we are not alone and that our circumstances do not have the final word. God’s presence sustains us when our strength diminishes and reminds us that no trial can separate us from His care.
Surrender to God a trial you are facing and ask Him to be your refuge and strength throughout the process.
Beloved Father, in the midst of my trials, I want to learn to take refuge in You before relying on my own strength. When fear tries to rule my heart, remind me that You are near and that You are my sure help. Give me the strength to walk through every difficulty with faith, and help me trust that although circumstances change, Your love and presence remain steadfast. Sustain my heart and teach me to rest in You. Amen.
