The Kingdom of God should occupy first place in our lives, guiding our priorities, decisions, and trust in Him.
Jesus taught that one of humanity’s greatest struggles is worry about life’s needs and circumstances. In the midst of that reality, He invited His followers to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. This means placing God at the center of our priorities and allowing His will to govern our decisions. Seeking the Kingdom does not mean neglecting our responsibilities, but recognizing that everything else must be ordered under God’s direction. Many times, we seek security in money, success, or our own abilities, but Jesus reminds us that the Father knows our needs and cares for us. When the Kingdom occupies first place, our perspective changes: we stop living under the control of anxiety and begin walking with confidence in God’s provision and faithfulness. This daily pursuit involves knowing His will, obeying His Word, and reflecting His values in the way we live.
Examine your priorities today and ask whether God truly occupies first place in your decisions and desires.
Beloved Father, thank You because You know every one of my needs and care for me with love. Help me seek Your Kingdom above my own interests and trust more fully in Your provision. Forgive me for the times I have placed my security in temporary things or allowed worries to occupy the place that belongs only to You. Order my priorities, guide my decisions, and teach me to live under Your will. May my life reflect that You are my greatest treasure and first priority. Amen.
