The Kingdom of God Has Come

Kingdom of God · 5 min read

And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
Mark 1:15

Introduction

The Kingdom of God came through Jesus Christ and invites us to live under His rule, recognizing His authority and purpose.

Reflection

The central message of Jesus during His ministry was the announcement of the arrival of God’s Kingdom. When Christ declared that the Kingdom had drawn near, He was announcing that God was intervening in history in a special way to bring salvation and restoration. The Kingdom of God does not refer only to a future place, but to God’s rule revealed through the person and work of Jesus. Its arrival calls people to repentance, faith, and a new way of living under the Father’s will. Jesus showed the characteristics of this Kingdom through His teachings, miracles, and love toward people. Where Christ reigns, there is transformation, hope, and restoration. As followers of Jesus, we are called to live as citizens of this Kingdom, reflecting its values in the world. Although we await the complete manifestation of the Kingdom in the future, we can already experience its present reality through Christ’s presence in our lives.

Practical application

Reflect today on what areas of your life need to be more fully surrendered to God’s rule.

Prayer

Beloved Father, thank You because through Christ You have brought Your Kingdom near to us. Help me recognize Jesus as the true King of my life and submit every area of my heart to His will. Forgive me for the times I have wanted to rule my own life without considering Your plans. Teach me to live according to the values of Your Kingdom and reflect Your love, justice, and truth in everything I do. May my life proclaim the hope of Your Kingdom. Amen.

For reflection
Am I allowing God to truly govern my life, or are there still areas where I want to remain in control?
