Christ’s mission cannot be carried out through human ability alone; we need God’s power to be His witnesses in the world.
Before sending His disciples to fulfill the mission, Jesus promised that they would receive power from the Holy Spirit. This promise reveals a fundamental truth: God’s work requires God’s own help and direction. The disciples had walked with Jesus, heard His teachings, and witnessed His miracles, but they still needed to be strengthened for the calling they would receive. The Christian mission does not depend only on skill, knowledge, or human effort, but on God’s presence working through us. The Holy Spirit equips, guides, and strengthens believers to share the gospel with courage and love. Many times, we may feel incapable of speaking about our faith or serving others because we focus on our limitations, but God does not call perfect people; He calls people willing to depend on Him. The first disciples went from being afraid to becoming courageous witnesses because they were strengthened by the Holy Spirit. In the same way, God equips us to fulfill the mission He has entrusted to us.
Before attempting to serve or share your faith, ask God to fill you with His direction and strength so you can do it according to His will.
Holy Spirit, thank You because You have not left us alone to fulfill the mission Christ gave us. I recognize that many times I try to depend on my own strength and forget that I need Your direction and power. Strengthen my faith, remove my fears, and help me be a faithful witness of Christ. Give me wisdom to speak, love for people, and sensitivity to follow Your guidance. May my life be an instrument in Your hands, and may everything I do to share the gospel depend on Your work within me. Amen.
